What happens when the master hair designers of today are
no longer active behind the chair? Who will take their place?
Who will teach the next generation? The masters have! A new
and exciting way of teaching Hairstyling has begun at the Academy
of Cosmetology Arts (ACA) - The Hairstylist Apprenticeship Program. ACA is one of the only work study programs in Colorado offering
a recognized certification in hairstyling.
The Hairstylist Apprenticeship Program is specifically designed for students who chose to focus their career on just the art of hair styling. This program will not only
teach the student theoretical principles of hair styling in a class room setting similar to traditional schools, but the student will also receive one on one, hands on training
in one of our many participating salons, while earning a wage - earn while you learn!
ACA has created a curriculum that will not only challenge the student, but will be fun and exciting while learning the skills necessary to be a successful Hairstylist. Some of these skills include:
- Hair coloring and bleaching
- Hair Cutting
- Hairstyling, wet setting and thermal styling
- Shampooing and scalp treatments
- Permanent waving and chemical relaxing
- Professional Ethics
- Salon Management
- Success Dynamics
- And more
Upon completion of the Hairstylist Apprenticeship Program, the student will be prepared for salon appropriate
methods while meeting the required elements for the Colorado State Hairstylist Licensing Exam.
